FORMER BUCCANEERS INK NHL DEALS

Two former Buccaneers, both teammates under former Buccaneer Head Coach Scott Owens at Colorado College, have inked deals with National Hockey League teams.

Left wing Peter Sejna, a native of Liptovsky Mikulas, Slovakia, signed a free-agent contract with the St. Louis Blues on Sunday and scored a power-play goal in his first game for the Blues over the weekend. Sejna, who racked up 157 points during his 2 seasons (1998-99 and 1999-00) with the Bucs and earned All-USHL First Team honors, was the WCHA Player of the Year this season at CC, and led the nation in points. The 23 year-old is also a Hobey Baker Award Finalist.

Forward Noah Clarke, a native of LaVerne, California, signed a one-year contract with the L.A. Kings, and is expected to play for the Kings’ AHL affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs. Clarke, who tallied 112 points in his 2 seasons for the Bucs (1997-98 and 1998-99) earned rookie of the year honors in ‘98 and was on the USHL All Star team in 99. This year at Colorado College, Clarke recorded 70 points, ranking him 3rd in the NCAA for scoring and 1st in assists.
