BUCS TO FACE OMAHA/RC AT HOME, ROUGHRIDERS RE-MATCH IN CR

On Friday night, November 1st, the Bucs (4-4) host Omaha/River City at the Metro Ice Sports Arena for a 7:35 p.m. game. The Lancers are currently in third place in the USHL’s West Division with a 6-3-1 record. The Bucs are 1-0 against Omaha/River City; they beat the Lancers 6-5 in a shootout at Des Moines on October 12th. The Lancers are led offensively by Janne Jokila, currently ranked 5th overall in the USHL for scoring.

Friday’s game is presented by Budweiser and KGGO, and will feature “Bud Light Sumo Wrestling” between periods. The first 1,000 adults over the age of 21 at the game will receive a free “Buccaneer Hockey 101” book from Budweiser. Fans of all ages will enjoy nightly features like the Des Moines Register T-Shirt Toss, the Snickers Snack Break, Army Fan Cam, Irwin’s Instant Replay, and more. Buccaneer forward Matt Burto will be in Autograph Alley (located in the SW corner of the arena) after the game to meet fans. On Saturday night, the Bucs travel to Cedar Rapids for a re-match of this weekend’s game against the RoughRiders. The Bucs have played Cedar Rapids twice this season (both in Des Moines), losing 5-3 on October 5th and coming out on top with a 5-4 shootout victory on October 25th. Cedar Rapids currently sits atop the USHL’s East Division with a 6-3-1 record. They are led offensively by forward Tyler Howells, ranked 8th overall in the USHL for scoring. CR goaltender Joe Fallon is ranked 4th in the USHL among goaltenders .914 save percentage. Saturday’s game is at 7:05 p.m. All Buccaneers games are broadcast live on AM 1700 KBGG.

BUCS ANNOUNCE “MONDAY MADNESS” TICKET SALE FOR NOVEMBER

The Des Moines Buccaneers have announced a new ticket promotion to save early bird fans money on game tickets. For the month of November, fans that purchase game tickets on Mondays for any November game will receive $2 off their ticket price. Arena Level seating, usually $11 per ticket, will cost $9 per ticket. Ice level seating, usually $13 per seat, will cost $11 per seat. Ticket offer is available on Mondays only, with walk-up or phone orders. The Buccaneers accept cash, check or credit cards (MC/VISA/AMEX) at the ticket window, 7201 Hickman Rd., or credit cards only for phone orders. HAPPY HOUR AT THE METRO ICE SPORTS ARENA

The Des Moines Buccaneers have introduced a new “Happy Hour” at the Metro Ice Sports Arena for upcoming home games this season. From the time doors open (6:45 p.m.) until the puck drops at 7:35 p.m., draws of beer are just $3.00 in Buccaneer concession stands. After the game, fans are invited to celebrate in the Overtime Lounge, where they’ll receive $1 off their pitcher of beer for each goal scored by the Bucs (up to 4).
