Dwight LaBrosse (McMurray, PA) put on a Buccaneers jersey for the first time against the Lancers on New Year's eve, 2003  The 6’0”, 200lb. goalie was a ninth round pick of the National Hockey League’s Pittsburgh Penguins in 2002.

Last season, LaBrosse was a member of the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League, and was a part of the 2002 U.S. World Junior Championship team and the Under-18 U.S. National team in 2000-01.

Interview

Kevin Kasel: Tell me about your family life, do you have any brothers or sisters?

Dwight LaBrosse: Yeah, I have a twin brother who plays in Billings in the North American Hockey League. He played in Sioux City in this league about two years ago and won the National Championship.

Kevin: Are you identical twins?

Dwight: Yeah, we're identical.

Kevin: How old were you when you started playing hockey?

Dwight: I probably started skating when I was three or four, and goalie when I was five. So I have been playing goalie for 15 years.

Kevin: Why did you start?

Dwight: Probably because of my Dad, because he played and pushed us into and once we started we fell in love with it.

Kevin: Have you always been a goaltender?

Dwight: Yeah.

Kevin: If I won the lottery, the first thing I'd do is ?

Dwight: How much money do I get?

Kevin; We will say the 50-60 million dollar range.

Dwight: I'd move to an island.

Kevin: Do you have a favorite pro or college team?

Dwight: Not a team, but Brett Favre.

Kevin: What about a favorite player?

Dwight: (Martin) Brodeur, he wins a lot of games. He's a really good goalie, he is someone to look up to.

Kevin: What are some things you want to do in your life besides hockey?

Dwight: Make a million dollars.

Kevin: Finish this sentence: The fans would be surprised to know that I ...

Dwight: That I have a twin brother.

Kevin: My first job was ...

Dwight: Construction.

Kevin: What can't you imagine living without?

Dwight: Women.

Kevin: Who has been the biggest influence on your life?

Dwight: My Father.

Kevin: What would you consider your dream car?

Dwight: Ferrari.

Kevin: What's your most embarrassing moment?

Dwight: Can't think of one right now, off the top of my head.

Kevin: What is your favorite holiday?

Dwight: Christmas, because you get a lot of time off.

Kevin: Who is your favorite Super-Hero?

Dwight: Spiderman.

Kevin: What is your favorite hockey movie?

Dwight: Slap Shot, obviously.

Kevin: What is your favorite kind of ice cream?

Dwight: Vanilla.

Kevin: Do you have a nickname?

Dwight: Dewey or D-White.

Kevin: If you were stranded on a desert island, whom would you want to be stranded with ? Britney Spears, Halle Berry, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez or Tara Reid?

Dwight: I will take all of the above, doesn't matter.

Kevin: What is your favorite board game?

Dwight: Probably when I was younger, I'd say Monopoly

Kevin: What web page do you check first when you go on-line?

Dwight: We'll say, USHL.com.

Kevin: Do you have a pre-game ritual? If so, what is it?

Dwight: Sleep as much as I can and eat banana right before the game.

Kevin: Who would you rather be, Bugs Bunny or Road Runner?

Dwight: Probably Road Runner, he runs fast and get away with things.

Kevin: If you started your own NHL franchise, and you could pick any player, who would you start with and why?

Dwight: I'd start with me in net. Why, because I could, cause I owned the team.

Kevin: Who would you have on your hockey "Dream Team"?

Dwight: My goalie partner would be Martin Brodeur. (John) Leclair, (Mike) Modano, (Bill) Guerin, they are all Americans. Defense, (Derian) Hatcher and (Chris) Chelios.

Kevin: What are your superstitions?

Dwight: I can't discuss my superstitious.

Kevin: Typical goalie.

Kevin: Who is faster, Speedy Gonzalez or the Road Runner?

Dwight: Road Runner.

Kevin: What is your favorite restaurant?

Dwight: Armstrong's, it's a restaurant back in Pittsburgh (PA).

Kevin: What do you miss most about home?

Dwight: My girlfriend and my brother.

Kevin: Which one, new or old Buccaneer logo?

Dwight: I'm kind of an original guy, so I like the old one.

Kevin: Burger King, McDonalds or Wendy's?

Dwight: McDonalds, for sure.

Kevin: Someone told me about that ... Jesse (Lane).

Dwight: I'm a McDonalds freak.

Kevin: What is the last movie you have seen?

Dwight: Rules of Attraction.

Kevin: What is the last CD you have purchased?

Dwight: Alice In Chains.

Kevin: Any advice for younger hockey players?

Dwight: Work hard, don't get messed up in all the crap outside the rink. Just keep focused and good things will come.
