Kevin Kasel: Tell me about your family life, do you have any brothers or sisters?

Brad Peterson: I have one brother and one sister.

Kevin: Older? Younger?

Brad: My brother is 21 and my sister is 12.

Kevin: How old were you when you started playing hockey?

Brad: I was probably three years old.

Kevin: Why did you start?

Brad: Well my brother was playing and I thought it was cool to play with him.

Kevin: Have you always been a forward?

Brad: No, I played defense a couple years when I was younger and switched back and forth.

Kevin: Tell me about the past teams you've played for.

Brad: Jefferson was a pretty good program, that's my high school back in Minnesota. They won a lot of State tournaments, so we're always highly touted, so it was fun to play there.

Kevin: If I won the lottery, the first thing I'd do is ...

Brad: Buy another ticket.

Kevin: Do you have a favorite pro or college team?

Brad: Well I like the Wild, I guess it is pretty obvious.

Kevin: What about a favorite player?

Brad: Mark Parrish, comes from my hometown. He's a good guy.

Kevin: Tell me about some of your goals for the future.

Brad: Play hockey as long as I can and get an education out of it.

Kevin: What are some things you want to do in your life besides hockey?

Brad: I have no idea.

Brad: I don't have any secrets. I can't think of any right now.

Kevin: My first job was ...

Brad: Working as a maintenance guy for apartments.

Kevin: What can't you imagine living without?

Brad: TV.

Kevin: Where did you go on your last vacation?

Brad: Vancouver I think. For a tournament.

Kevin: Who has been the biggest influence on your life?

Brad: My parents for sure.

Kevin: Best decision I ever made?

Brad: Coming to Des Moines.

Kevin: What is your least favorite trait in a person?

Brad: When they think they are tough, but they're really not. That really bothers me.

Kevin: What would you consider your dream car?

Brad: Probably a Dodge Ram truck.

Kevin: If you could have lunch with one person, past or present, who would it be?

Brad: That's a good question ... George Washington.

Kevin: What are your hobbies?

Brad: I like to play video games, watch TV, hockey and baseball and all sorts of sports.

Kevin: What is your favorite holiday?

Brad: Christmas.

Kevin: Who is your favorite Super-Hero?

Brad: Batman.

Kevin: What is your favorite hockey movie?

Brad: Slap Shot.

Kevin: What is your favorite kind of ice cream?

Brad: Vanilla.

Kevin: What is your hockey career highlight?

Brad: Scoring a goal in State tournament for high school.

Kevin: If there is one thing you could change, what would it be?

Brad: I make it so wasn't so cold here. I didn't expect it to be cold here in Iowa.

Kevin: We're not that much further south then Minnesota.

Brad: I know. Everyone was saying the winter was pretty easy here.

Kevin: This is been the coldest it has been in awhile.

Kevin: When you're not playing hockey, where are we most likely to find you (in season or off season)?

Brad: In season, probably laying on the couch watching TV. Out of the season, I don't know outside, by pool, playing baseball or something like that.

Kevin: If you were stranded on a desert island, whom would you want to be stranded with ? Britney Spears, Halle Berry, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez or Tara Reid?

Brad: Tara Reid.

Kevin: What is your favorite food?

Brad: Steak.

Kevin: What is your favorite board game?

Brad: Monopoly.

Kevin: Do you have a specific pre-game meal? If so, what is it?

Brad: I eat Macaroni and Cheese before every game, well every home game at least.

Kevin: Who is your favorite band?

Brad: I don't know, I like Garth Brooks.

Kevin: What web page do you check first when you go on-line?

Brad: ESPN.

Kevin: Who would you rather be, Bugs Bunny or Road Runner?

Brad: Road Runner.

Kevin: What is your favorite TV show/book?

Brad: Seinfeld.

Kevin: What is your favorite non-hockey sport?

Brad: Baseball.

Kevin: If you started your own NHL franchise, and you could pick any player, who would you start with and why?

Brad: I'd start with Joe Sakic because he is a leader and he can score.

Kevin: Who would you have on your hockey "Dream Team"?

Brad: Sakic, Mark Parrish, Dominik Hasek, Mario Lemieux, Chris Pronger and Derian Hatcher at defense.

Kevin: Who is faster, Speedy Gonzalez or the Road Runner?

Brad: The Road Runner.

Kevin: What is your favorite Des Moines radio station?

Brad: I listen to the Hawk, 97.3.

Kevin: What do you miss most about home?

Brad: Probably being able to hang out with my friends back home.

Kevin: What is something you've always wanted to do, but haven't yet?

Brad: Sky dive.

Kevin: If you could change one aspect of your game, what would it be?

Brad: I'd like to be faster.

Kevin: Which one, new or old Buccaneer logo?

Brad: Old.

Kevin: Burger King, McDonalds or Wendy's?

Brad: Burger King.

Kevin: What is the last movie you have seen?

Brad: Lord Of The Rings 3.

Kevin: What is your favorite card game?

Brad: Cribbage.

Kevin: Outside of Des Moines, who has the best logo in the league?

Brad: St. Louis probably.

Kevin: You are the second person that said that.

Brad: Really? I really can't think of any. It is the only one that pops in my head. Who else said that?

Kevin: I don't remember who said that. But some of my friends think that's dorky looking.

Brad: Oh really, what's your favorite?

Kevin: I don't know, probably Lincoln.

Kevin: Outside of Des Moines, who has the best arena in the league?

Brad: Probably Green Bay.

Kevin: What "barn(s)" are you most intimated to play in, in the USHL?

Brad: Sioux City's old one is tough to play in, because a good rink, it's old, small. I'm not really intimidated by any rink.

Kevin: Any advice for younger hockey players?

Brad: Have fun.
