Ryan is from Tacoma, WA where he first started playing hockey at the age of 4. During the 2002-03 season he played for Bozeman Icedogs AWHL.

The motto Ryan lives by on the ice is, never settle for less than perfection and never give up. His greatest hockey achievement so far is, making the Bucs hockey team.

Kevin Kasel: Tell me about your family life, do you have any brothers or sisters?

Ryan Raven: Yeah, I got an older brother, Bradley who is 19 and then a younger brother who is 10.

Kevin: How old were you when you started playing hockey?

Ryan: I first skated when I was 3-1/2.

Kevin: Why did you start?

Ryan: Oh, that's tough one. Actually I was at a Major Junior hockey game in my hometown in Tacoma (Washington) and someone was handing out flyers my parents picked one up and said 'why not try it out'. So me and my older brother, both went out the next week, tried it out, been skating ever since.

Kevin: Have you always been a forward?

Ryan: No. Actually I played D up until I was 10.

Kevin: If I won the lottery, the first thing I'd do is ...

Ryan: Give some money to my parents.

Kevin: Tell me about some of your goals for the future.

Ryan: I hope to get a college scholarship. That's my biggest goal right now.

Kevin: Finish this sentence: The fans would be surprised to know that I ...

Ryan: That is a tough one ... I have no idea.

Kevin: My first job was ...

Ryan: I have not had a job.

Kevin: There is something the fans would be surprised to know.

Ryan: There you go, it works for both I guess.

Kevin: What would you being doing now if you weren't playing hockey?

Ryan: Probably playing baseball.

Kevin: Where did you go on your last vacation?

Ryan: Edmonton, Alberta (Canada).

Kevin: When did you first hear about the Bucs?

Ryan: 15 (years old). I came to the Buc Bowl, I was playing Midgets. I watched my first Junior 'A' game here.

Kevin: Did you have any other choices?

Ryan: I played in the AWHL last year. I was talking to Omaha a little bit, but then Des Moines drafted me, so I came here.

Kevin: What do you like to do besides hockey?

Ryan: Baseball.

Kevin: Best decision I ever made?

Ryan: Playing hockey.

Kevin: What would you consider your dream car?

Ryan: Bentley.

Kevin: Do you have a favorite movie?

Ryan: Remember The Titans.

Kevin: What's your most embarrassing moment?

Ryan: Whiffing in a shoot-out last year on my shot.

Kevin: Who is your favorite Super-Hero?

Ryan: Batman.

Kevin: What is your favorite sports-related movie?

Ryan: Chocolate chip cookie dough.

Ryan: Just meet the players.

Kevin: Do you have a nickname?

Ryan: No.

Ryan: Joe Sakic, because he is a franchise player and got great leadership skills.

Ryan: Scoring.
