RACE FOR PLAYOFFS CONTINUES; BUCS AT HOME FOR 2
On FRIDAY, MARCH 14TH, the Des Moines Buccaneers host TRI-CITY (20-26-5) at 7:35 p.m. for DES MOINES REGISTER FAMILY NIGHT WITH STAR 102.5. Its a night of fun for the whole family, with free facepainting and free Blue Bunny ice cream treats for kids. Fans at Fridays game can cast their official ballot for this years Fans Favorite Player Award, which will be presented at the Bucs final home game on March 22nd. After the game, kids can meet the Buccaneers parrot mascot, Winger, in Autograph Alley.
On SATURDAY, MARCH 15TH, the Bucs host WATERLOO (32-15-2) at 7:35 p.m. for Budweiser/KGGO Night. Fans will enjoy Budweiser Sumo Wrestling between periods, and can stick around after the game to meet Head Coach Bob Ferguson in Autograph Alley.
Tickets are on sale now and are available by stopping by the Metro Ice Sports Arena, 7201 Hickman Road in Urbandale, or calling 278-9757. Ticket prices are as follows: $11 for arena level adults, $8 for arena level kids (age 12 & under) and $13 for all ice level seating.

The Buccaneers are 22-23-5, good for 3rd place in the USHLs East Division
if the playoffs began today, the Buccaneers would hold playoff spot #7 of 8 spots
the league-leading Lincoln Stars (33-11-6) have clinched a playoff spot; the Bucs play Lincoln on March 22nd and March 28th
Buccaneers Tomas Jasko (55 points) and Marty Guerin (47 points) are both ranked among the top scorers in the league; Jasko is ranked 5th and Guerin 11th
Des Moines is ranked 3rd in the league for power play goals scored
the Bucs have just 4 regular season home games and 5 road games before the Clark Cup Playoffs begin.
