BUCS HOST OMAHA (FRI), TOPEKA (SAT) FOR FINAL HOME GAMES BEFORE HOLIDAYS; 2ND ANNUAL TEDDY BEAR TOSS SATURDAY

The Des Moines Buccaneers host Omaha/River City and Topeka this Friday and Saturday in their final 2 home games before the holiday break. (The next home game after the holidays is on Saturday, December 28th).

On FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6TH, the Bucs host the OMAHA/RIVER CITY LANCERS at 7:35 p.m. Friday’s game is sponsored by Nextel and Lazer 103.3. Fans can meet Buccaneer Travis Anderson in Autograph Alley after the game.

On SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7TH, the Bucs host the TOPEKA SCARECROWS at 7:35 p.m. Saturday’s game marks the 2nd Annual TEDDY BEAR TOSS to benefit Blank Children’s Hospital. The Buccaneers are asking fans to bring new, unwrapped teddy bears to the game with them. When the Bucs score their first goal, fans will toss their bears onto the ice. Play will be stopped, and the Bucs will scoop up all bears, which will be donated to Blank Children’s Hospital. Last year was the first time Des Moines has hosted a teddy bear toss, which is rapidly becoming a hockey tradition. The Bucs are hoping to top last year’s successful teddy bear toss, which brought in nearly 1,300 bears for Blank.

Saturday is also Des Moines Register Family Night at the Metro Ice Sports Arena. In addition to the Teddy Bear Toss, families will also enjoy appearances by “Santa Winger”, the Bucs’ mascot, and a mite youth hockey game between periods. Kids at the game will be treated to free facepainting and Blue Bunny ice cream novelties.

Specially priced “Family 4 Packs” are available for this family night game. They include 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs and sodas, and 2 Buccaneer pennants for just $44. Fans may save $1.00 off their individual tickets to this game by bringing a wrapper from any M&M/Mars product to the Buccaneer ticket office (not valid with Family 4 Pack discount).

Tickets for both Friday and Saturday games are on sale now by calling the Metro Ice Sports Arena at 278-9757, or stopping by the box office, located in the arena at 7201 Hickman Rd.
All seating is reserved. Ticket prices are as follows: Arena level adult: $11. Arena level kids (age 12 & under): $8. All ice level seating: $13.
