Head Coach Bob Ferguson came away from the draft with a positive feeling, believing that this year’s class of incoming players will give the Bucs a chance to improve on last season’s results. “Our plan going into the draft was to strengthen our team down the middle, and we were able to secure a number of quality centericemen,” Fergie said about the influx of forwards that the Bucs will be bringing to Des Moines. “We were also able to add a great deal of depth behind Pat Watson at goaltender with O’Brien and Foster,” Ferguson continued, “and with our draft choices, we are expecting a real battle in camp at the defensive positions.” “Overall, we feel good about the quality of players that were available for us in the draft and we’re looking forward to getting them to Des Moines,” concluded Fergie. Fans will get their first chance to see the new Bucs in action during training camp, which will be held June 17th, 18th, and 19th. A schedule of training camp events will be posted soon.
