Bucs to Open 2003 Evaluation Camp Wednesday The Des Moines Buccaneers coaching staff, including Head Coach/GM Bob Ferguson and Assistant Coaches Tim Ferguson and Bryce Macken, expect nearly 65 hockey players to be in attendance this week for the Bucs’ Recruiting/Evaluation Camp. The camp begins this Wednesday, June 18th and runs through Saturday, June 21st at the Metro Ice Sports Arena, 7201 Hickman Rd. The format of the camp includes morning practices, followed by evening games, which are open to the public. Evening games will be at 6:30 and 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Saturday’s game will have a ?Camp All Stars? format and will take place at 6:30 p.m. Doors open nightly at 6:00 p.m. Admission is just $2.00 per night, and includes both games and a roster sheet with a ?Guess the Team? contest, in which fans are asked to correctly name the 20 players that will be on the roster at the Bucs’ home opener in September. Concession and beverage stands will be open for evening games. Camp rosters will be comprised of players on Des Moines’ protected list (drafted, tendered and returning players; see list below), and about 30 additional invited players from all over the U.S. and Canada, including 12 from the Des Moines area. Forward Adam Miller (Buccaneer draft pick) will be in attendance at camp, but due to an injury, he will not be on the ice. Prior to Saturday night’s game, a special ?thank you? tailgate party for season ticket holders will be held in the east lot at the Metro Ice Sports Arena.
