Bob Ferguson

Bob Ferguson, a native of Kingston, Ontario, has been with the Buccaneers organization for a total of six seasons. He originally joined the Buccaneers in 1990 after spending nine years with the Sioux City Musketeers.

During his first term with Des Moines (1990-91 to 1994-95), Bob led the Bucs to three regular season championships (1991-92, 1993-94, 1994-95), two playoff championships (1994-95), and two national championships (1991-92, 1994-95).

In 1995, he left Des Moines and assumed the Head Coach position with the Indianapolis Ice (IHL), where he remained until 1998, when he was hired as the Head Coach for the new expansion Florida Everblades of the ECHL. Bob led the Everblades for three seasons, guiding them to the league’s best regular season performance ever in 1999-00.

In the summer of 2001, the Buccaneers were thrilled to announce the return of Bob Ferguson to Des Moines. He guided last year’s team to a 32-24-5 regular season finish. Bob and his wife Lisa reside in West Des Moines with their two children: Brett, 15 and Kaylee, 10.
