Ivan Prediger, coach-general manager of the Buccaneers, took the day off Thursday recuperate from a flu-like illness that has slowed him this week. But be expected to be back at practice for Saturday night's key game with Dubuque.

The contest against the first-place Fighting Saints has been moved back to an 8:06 o'clock start so that it can be televised live by IPBN.

Dave Brooker, a producer-director for IPBN, said interviews with Greater Des Moines Amateur Hockey officials and sequences of the Dubuque team have been videotaped and will be aired during the telecast.

"Allan Zussman of Madison, Wis., will do the play-by-play, with Steve Carroll serving as the color man and Steve Brown of Cedar Rapids being the floor reporter," said Brooker.

Carroll does all the Bucs' road games over radio station KCBC.

Meanwhile, Kevin Jordison of the Bucs' Staff said Prediger's condition improved briefly after the Bucs stunned Sioux City, 7-6, with a goal in the last 5 seconds here Wednesday night.

Everyone agreed that it was the Bucs most exciting finish since they entered the United States Hockey League in 1980.

Jordison said defenseman Tom Schlief, who banged in the winning goal from near the red line at center ice, said the goal was his "biggest thrill in hockey."

It climaxed a dramatic third-period comeback that saw the Bucs score four goals.

During the burst, Prediger often had five forwards on the Ice at the same time for added firepower. Scott Rupp frequently was the triggerman, playing the defenseman's position at the point to help set up his teammates.

Rupp had a pair of goals, as did teammate Bill Ries, and a pair of assists.

Jordison said Prediger refused doctor's advice to be hospitalized for congestion in the chest. "We've got too many games to worry about that." Prediger was quoted as saying.
