Sarah: First of all, why don’t you talk a little bit about your role on the team.

Felipe: Well, it’s a lot different than last year. Last year we had so many guys who has been there for two, three, four years. This year we’ve got a young team. It’s just a lot, lot different. Last year everybody would tell you what to do; you knew exactly what was going on.

Sarah: Are you going to be here another year?

Felipe: No, I’ve committed to the University of Alaska at Fairbanks. That’s where I’m from. I hope to play there four years.

Sarah: Are you excited?

Felipe: Yes, I am very excited.

Sarah: When did you sign?

Felipe: I haven’t signed; I’m just committed.

Sarah: Have you known for awhile?

Felipe: I’ve actually known for about a week and a half or two weeks. It’s pretty new.

Sarah: Why don’t you talk about this year and the way you feel it is going.

Felipe: We do have a young team this year. In the beginning we knew we had a lot of talent on the team. It takes the younger players awhile to get used to the league and the style of play. Towards the end here we’ve come together and started playing a lot better.

Sarah: How about the nationals last year? Do you want to talk about that?

Felipe: Nope.

Sarah: Nothing you can tell me?

Felipe: Nope. We lost.

Sarah: Do you have any stories you can tell me about?

Felipe: I don’t have any good stories to tell you. About what? What kind of stories do you want to hear?

Sarah: Anything.

Felipe: About anything.

Sarah: Since we’ve already had an interview with you earlier, we know a lot of stuff so we’ve got to come up with something. You don’t want to tell me about nationals so.

Felipe: I couldn’t tell you any stories. It’s top secret. I can’t even tell Mark Mullen.

Sarah: Nobody trusts me. What did you do over the summer?

Felipe: Right after the year was over, I went to Hawaii. A bunch of friends of mine from my class at home went to Hawaii for ten days. After that I stayed home and worked, hung out all summer. It was fun.
Sarah: I’ve never been there before.

Sarah: You were just lazy and you just worked?

Felipe: No, I worked and I lifted and tried to get on the ice every once in awhile. That’s about it.

Sarah: How do you feel that you are performing this year?

Felipe: Personally?

Sarah: Yeah.

Felipe: I haven’t done too much better or worse, I don’t think. Last year’s team was full of four-and-all-star guys and we were the nest team in the league. A lot of the responsibility and everything like that was already there. Everything was taken care of last year. This year, too, we have good talent. It’s just a totally different scenario. Last year’s team, we had so many guys that could make or break the game. We had guys that could take the nights off almost because Pete Fregoe would get like four goals in one game and we won 4-1.
Sarah: Do you have anything you want to say to the fans?

Felipe: The fans are great. They are definitely the best fans in the league. Everybody has been around the league and they know about hockey. They know what is going on during the game. You’ve got older couples who have been coming to the games ever since the Bucs started. It is different from the neweer teams who are having good teams and jumping on the band wagon. The Buc fans are there win or lose, and have history of supporting the team. It has been great playing here.
