Tom Carroll, Head Coach

Biography

The Des Moines Buccaneers proudly welcome Tom Carroll in his first season as the Head Coach and General Manager! Tom comes to Des Moines from South Bend, Indiana, where he spent the last 14 years as the top Assistant Coach at the University of Notre Dame. While in South Bend, Carroll maintained a 100% graduation rate of all his recruited athletes and helped build Notre Dame into one of the top Division 1 hockey programs in the country.

Carroll has also been a Head Coach for the USA Hockey Elite Development programs in Lake Placid, NY and St. Cloud, MN., and spent one year as the Head Coach of the Culver Military Academy.

Originally from Edina, Minnesota, Carroll brings a wealth of on-ice experience to Des Moines as well. He was a member of two State Championship teams at Edina East High School, then went on to play for the University of Wisconsin, where he added two NCAA Championships to his resume. Carroll graduated from Wisconsin with a Bachelors of Science degree and went on to earn his Masters of Science at the University of Notre Dame. Joining Coach Carroll in the move to Des Moines are his wife Cindy and daughter Jessica.
