In his second year with the Buccaneers, Coach Scott Owens guided the team to a 45 - 18 - 4 overall record, including winning the Buc Bowl pre-season championship.

NCAA Division I

Seventeen Buccaneers received scholarships to play college hockey and Erik Cole was named as the USHL Second Star.

Urbandale, Iowa native Scott Clemmensen went on to play four years in goal at Boston College. While at Boston College, Scott shattered all BC goalie records, including an NCAA regular season record for consecutive minutes without giving up a goal.

Scott went 254 minutes, 39 seconds to beat a record that had stood since 1958. The streak spanned 5 games, including 3 shutouts. In his senior year, Scott won the NCAA Division I National Championship.

NHL Players

After college careers, three Buccaneers went on to play in the NHL: Scott Clemmensen (New Jersey Devils), Erik Cole (Carolina Hurricanes), and Garrett Stafford (LA Kings).
