Coach Ferguson Gets Win 500
Coach Bob Ferguson notched his 500th win in the USHL on January 17, 2004. He is the only coach in the USHL to reach the 500 win mark. Besides being the only coach to reach the 500 win milestone, Bob has numerous Anderson, Clark, and Gold Cup championships to his credit. Congratulations Bob!
A Tradition of Developing Players
The Buccaneers and head coach Bob Ferguson continued the tradition of developing players for college and professional hockey.
This season 11 players reveived college scholarships: Travis Anderson, Brian Boulay, Davis Drewski, Mike Erickson, Tom May, Marty Mjelleli, Mike Neilon, Joe Piskula, Pat Watson, and Dave Watters.
Team captain Mike Erickson and Dwight LaBrosse were selected in the NHL draft. Mike was a third round pick and Dwight was a ninth round pick.
The Buccaneers ended the season with a 2-2 record in the Buc Bowl and a 29-26-5 season. They then advanced to the first round of the Clark Cup playoffs where they were eliminated by the regular season champions, the Tri-City Storm.
