Travis Anderson - Number 11 Position: Defense Travis is returning to the Des Moines Buccaneers for a second season. Originally from Coon Rapids, MN and he started playing hockey at the age of 5. His greatest hockey achievement is All Conference in High School. The best advice Travis has received is, worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it gets you nowhere. Interview Kevin Kasel: Tell me about the past teams you've played for. Travis Anderson: I grew up in Coon Rapids, MN, so I played for the Coon Rapids organization all the way up including high school. I was drafted by Omaha last year, and got traded two days before the season started to Des Moines. Kevin: If I won the lottery, the first thing I'd do is ? Travis: Buy a nice Porsche. Kevin: Do you have a favorite pro or college team? Travis: I say the Gophers. Kevin: What is your favorite saying? Travis: Life is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it gets you nowhere. Kevin: Tell me about some of your goals for the future. Travis: Go to Niagara, play well, help out the hockey team and do well in school and take care of business. Kevin: What are some things you want to do in your life besides hockey? Travis: I guess go back to the last question, graduate from Niagara and start a family, I will be about that age. Kevin: What would you being doing now if you weren't playing hockey? Travis: Going to school somewhere else. Kevin: What can't you imagine living without? Travis: Food. Kevin: In comparison to your hometown what do you like and dislike about Des Moines? Travis: Even though we are in the city, doesn't seems to be very busy, like back home. It seems to be more developed back where I lived, so I kinda missed all the stuff that is going on, but at the same time when you like the quiet time, it is nice here. Kevin: What is your least favorite trait in a person? Travis: I don't like people who are two-faced, I guess you say. Act one way around one group of people and person and totally different around other people. I am not a big fan of that. Kevin: If you could have lunch with one person, past or present, who would it be? Travis: I would have lunch with Marty Mjelleli. Because he is just the man. Kevin: What is your favorite holiday? Travis: Representing Minnesota after my senior year of high school in the Chicago showcase. Kinda cleaning up on all the other teams, and being the Champs of that. Kevin: If you were a head coach of a team what would you do? Travis: I'd recruit Marty Mjelleli. Kevin: Did Marty pay you for this interview? Travis: Usually watch a movie during the day, then take a little nap, then wake up, get dressed and head to the arena. Kevin: What is your favorite TV show/book? Travis: I like Friends. Kevin: What would you consider your ideal vacation? Travis: Go to Hawaii, it looks like a nice place to go. Kevin: What do you miss most about home? Travis: The friends that are back there. Travis: I just don't like playing in Omaha, so Omaha. Kevin: Any advice for younger hockey players? Travis: Work hard, I guess that is what everyone says. Kevin: What's a Purple Eagle? Travis: I don't know why they have to be the Purple Eagles, they just can't be just the Eagles or something. |
