Phil Fox - Number 20 Position: Forward Phil started playing hockey at the age of 6 in his hometown of Stillwater, MN. His greatest achievement in hockey is 2 years All Conference with the Stillwater Ponies. While on the ice, Phil lives by the motto, 100% of the shots you don’t take, won’t go in. The best advice he has received is, never give up. Interview Kevin Kasel: Tell me about your family life, do you have any brothers or sisters? Phil Fox: I have older sister and an older brother. Kevin: How old were you when you started playing hockey? Phil: I was about six. Kevin: Why did you decide to play for the Bucs? Phil: I don't know, I was drafted here. Kevin: Have you always been a forward? Phil: Yes. Kevin: Tell me about the past teams you've played for. Phil: I played for Stillwater High School. We weren't very good. We played in a tough conference, White Bear, Hill Murray, all the better teams in the state. Kevin: Do you have a favorite pro or college team? Phil: Gophers and the Wild. Kevin: What about a favorite player? Phil: I don't really have one, I'd say Mike Modano. Kevin: Tell me about some of your goals for the future. Phil: Be able to get a D1 scholarship, play college hockey. Kevin: What is your favorite hockey memory? Phil: A Bantams, state tournament, we were the third place champs. Kevin: My first job was ... Phil: I worked for my Mom in a restaurant. Kevin: In comparison to your hometown what do you like and dislike about Des Moines? Phil: There is nothing I dislike. I like it, because It is big and you can meet a lot of people. Kevin: When did you first hear about the Bucs? Phil: Every since I started learning about the USHL. Kevin: Who has been the biggest influence on your life? Phil: My Dad. Kevin: What would you consider your dream car? Phil: I don't really follow cars, I'm not a big car guy, maybe a Ferrari. Kevin: What's your most embarrassing moment? Phil: Getting caught streaking in High School. Kevin: What is your favorite holiday? Phil: Christmas. Kevin: Finish this sentence. Kevin: Where would you like to go to college? Phil: I like to play for a team in the WCHA, North Dakota, Minnesota, Michigan, somewhere around there. Kevin: Who is your favorite band? Kevin: What is your favorite Des Moines radio station? Phil: I don't listen to the radio, my radio is broken in my car right now. Kevin: What would you consider your ideal vacation?
